Credit Building Loan
This loan program aims to remove financial barriers for immigrants seeking U.S. citizenship. This loan will offer an affordable way to help D.C. non-citizen residents build credit and fund your USCIS application fees.

Borrowers will receive one-on-one financial coaching education that will help to strengthen their financial practices.

Required Documents for Loan:

One to three months of bank statements

application fees

Eligibility Criteria:

Be a Lawful Permanent DC resident

Be of 18 years of age

Must be employed
-
Must be eligible to file with USCIS

Benefits of the Program:

Borrowers will have access to CAAB’s wrap-around services such as financialempowerment workshops and financial coaching.

If unbanked, CAAB can assist the applicant in establishing a bank account with a financial institution.

Payments will be reported to the credit bureaus, creating a positive credit history that can help to establish a credit score.
